First-Ever Lady Death Tabletop Game Coming from Cold War and Coffin Comics CHICAGO, IL -- October 4, 2018.
For the first time ever, Lady Death is joining the world of tabletop gaming thanks to a new collaborative team-up between Coffin Comics, LLC (Lady Death, La Muerta) and Cold War Inc., (Squarriors: The Card Game). Coffin Comics has granted Cold War the exclusive rights to introduce fans of the iconic Lady Death series to the world of tabletop gaming.
“Cold War gets it. I think the overall game premise will stoke gamers and fiends alike. Cold War gets to tap into Lady Death’s entire 25 year story history for the game. ” says Lady Death creator Brian Pulido.
Cold War is experienced with creating comic book-based games after successfully launching a strategy card game for the independent comic series, Squarriors (Devil’s Due Comics). The Lady Death series meshes perfectly with Cold War’s philosophy of bringing a comic’s art, heart, and soul into a playable format. CEO Ash Maczko (Squarriors, Squarriors the Card Game) states he is, “...beyond excited for the opportunity to give new life to Lady Death herself in the form of a tabletop game.
Brian [Pulido] is a great guy to work with and we’re ecstatic to begin this project.” This isn’t Cold War’s first time dealing with Coffin Comics or Lady Death. Lead Cold War artist Ashley Witter (Squarriors, X-23, Doctor Aphra) has illustrated covers for the series and is looking forward to a future working with Coffin Comics.
The Lady Death tabletop game is now in development. More details about the game will be released as the project advances.

If BackerKit experiences any difficulty billing your card, they will send you an email with instructions on how to correct your payment information. And don't worry -- you'll have a one-week grace period* to correct your payment.
*After this one-week grace period, any items associated with your balance due will be considered forfeited and cancelled.

We're just 3 weeks away from seeing the Hellwitch: Hellbourne #1 Kickstarter Campaign launched Wed, Oct. 17th, so we sat down with Hellwitch co-writer Mike MacLean to see what secretes he could reveal about the upcoming project!
Let's jump right in....
Jimmy Calabrese: So Mike, why Hellwitch?
Mike MacLean: Fiends have asked about Hellwitch since her first appearance in Lady Death: Damnation Games. Everyone seems to want to know more about this lethal vixen. And when has Coffin ever denied its fans? Plus, it’s an opportunity for me and Brian to tell an EVEN DARKER story than we do in the pages of Lady Death. No… I’m not kidding. No one In the universe could make Lady Death look tame, but Hellwitch: Hellbourne #1 cranks the gore, violence and lust to eleven. Mature readers only. You’ve been warned.
JC: I like what I'm hearing! What's the story about?
MM: Hellwich: Hellbourne #1 follows the life of a lowly pit slave as she battles her way out of ruthless subjugation to become one the fiercest warrior sorceresses in all of Hell. I don’t want to give the whole story away. But I can say that readers will be exposed to demonic gladiators, forbidden desires, and unrestrained blood lust.
JC: You had me at demonic gladiators! How is Hellwitch different that Lady Death?
MM: While both women are fiercely rebellious, Hellwitch is a fanatic bent on ridding Hell of humans and demons alike—by any means necessary. Despite Lady Death’s ultra-violent tendencies, there are some lines she won’t cross. Not only does she struggle to preserve a semblance of her own humanity, but she has a strong sense of justice and often defends the weak and innocent. Hellwitch cares about one thing and one thing only—PURGING HELL!
JC: Why should people care about Hellwitch?
MM: In the tradition of the best villains, Hellwitch is a sympathetic character. She faces enslavement, defeat, and loss only to rise above her savage circumstances. She spits in the face of the status quo and bows to no one. It’s hard not to root for someone like that.
JC: Why should Coffin Comics fans be excited for Hellwitch?
MM: Forget the sex and violence. Forget the redemption story Brian and I cooked up (easily one of our best). The book is worth a pledge for the ART alone. Diego Bernard’s pencils are absolutely breathtaking. Seriously, this guy is CRAZY talented. Not only is he a great visual storyteller, but his pages evoke so much raw power and sensuality they’ll leave you gasping. Trust me, you’ll be seeing BIG things out of this guy. Not to mention the fantastic color stylings of Ceci de la Cruz and the amazing, unsung lettering talents of Marshall Dillion. They make an awesome team.
JC: How does this story fit into the Lady Death Universe?
MM: Along with being a kickass vengeance tale, Hellwitch: Hellbourne #1 gives readers insight into the hierarchy and culture of Hell. We learn more about the Hellbourne hives and their brutal caste system. And while the book refers to Lady Death: Apocalyptic Abyss, it can easily be read as a standalone piece. So, if you’re new to the Lady Death Universe this would be a good one to jump into. (But be warned—it’ll be a baptism by FIRE!)
JC: Any last remarks?
MM: As always, thanks so much for your support. You fiends rule!
